Hegemony Midrange! Transcendence specs comparable to high-end "POCO F5" review

The standards for the midrange are too explosive

Xiaomi's latest smartphone "POCO F5" was provided by AliExpress, so I will review it. The biggest feature of this unit is the installation of the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 . Qualcomm's Snapdragon, a SoC for smartphones, has been named according to the "400 series", "600 series", "700 series", and "800 series". This stuffed performance and generations into numbers, so it became chaotic and meaningless with each generation.

Changed this to "Snapdragon X (grade) Gen X (generation)" now. And so on.

So Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is the second generation model of the second SoC from the top. The plus means that it should be an improved version of the 7 Gen 2. However, there is no separate product called Snapdragon 7 Gen 2, and it is skipped and has a plus. Hmm, maybe chaos after all. But I understand what you want to say, It's just that powerful, it's a great SoC! " Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 had a feeling that there were few adopted smartphones and it ended in a dud, so I think I want to give it a boost.

Such expectation Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. It claims to improve ISP gun loading and AI processing performance by up to 40%, and improve game performance. If you look at the essential processing performance, it's going to be outrageous.

Below are the results of measuring POCO F5 with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 with various benchmarks. It's a terrible score. A score approaching Snapdragon 8 Gen 1!

Is it similar to Redmi Note 12 Turbo in terms of specs?

Twitter scrolling is great. Zenfone etc. is a high-speed scroll that continues at once when played, but Xiaomi feels slightly slower and shorter. However, it is not as relaxed as choosing people like AQUOS. Almost no bumps. People who are not used to using high-end terminals may hardly understand. I think it's comfortable for most people.

The screen is a beautiful OLED display. Widevine L1 DRM copyright protection is also supported, and various SVODs can be played with high image quality. Since the SoC is the latest Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, there is no such thing as being unable to play HDR videos due to the restrictions of the SoC. The peak brightness is 1000nit and the image quality is good even when playing HDR videos. The HBM brightness seems to be 1000nit on the provided materials, ensuring high visibility outdoors. Compared to a group of terminals that don't actively disclose brightness in this area, it certainly felt bright and easy to see even outdoors during the day.
Zenfone 9 should have a higher peak brightness, but it seems that the maximum brightness is slightly suppressed other than when playing HDR videos in consideration of burn-in prevention etc.

Speakers don't generally "sound good" across the entire range. The sound field is also narrow, and I think it probably uses low-grade parts suitable for the product price range, but despite its bad background, it manages to do well when Dolby Atmos is enabled. When enabled, the sound field expands at once, increasing the sense of presence and greatly emphasizing the mid- and high-range sounds. The tendency is further strengthened from dialog enhancement in the setting. Even if you enable Dolby Atmos, there is no phenomenon like Arrows N, where the high and low range sound does not come out properly.

Also, with stereo speakers, the sound quality on the receiving speaker side is usually poor, but rather the sound pressure on the receiving speaker side is too strong, which is a strange seasoning. If you hold it with both hands, the balance will be close to the left and right.

For a product in this cheap class, it has an excellent screen and HDR support, and excellent sound quality adjustment in terms of sound field and presence. You can feel the peculiarity of addition and subtraction with the developer's desire to ensure video playback performance. The measured weight is 182.5g, which is fairly light. The plasticy housing is easy to get fingerprints on and stands out, and it lacks a sense of luxury The main camera is 64MP wide angle. It also has OIS, so you can take beautiful pictures outdoors during the day.

If the food judgment by AI works, it will be corrected to a warm color, and you can take delicious pictures.

Portrait mode can be applied to various objects other than people. I think that it should be translated into a name such as "background blur" correctly like AQUOS.

Zoom is what I thought was surprisingly powerful. This unit has a wide-angle, ultra-wide-angle, and bonus macro configuration, and although it doesn't have a telephoto camera in particular, when I first started using it, I thought it was equipped with a telephoto camera. Even if you zoom in to about 10x, you can still see it. It is natural to think that the crop zoom that utilizes the 64MP camera's re-mosaic (pixel de-mixing) is effective.

However, if you simply shoot from the same place in 64MP mode and cut it out, it's jagged and not as natural and clear as it is. It would be reasonable to think

By the way, this is a Zenfone 9 zoomed up to 8x and slightly cropped. It doesn't have a telephoto camera, and it should have a better digital zoom than a midrange camera that also doesn't have a telephoto camera, but the noise reduction isn't working properly and the details are unnatural.

Zenfone 9 is a good model that boasts excellent usability and image quality when used at a standard angle of view, but Xiaomi, which has developed a wide range of technologies from top to bottom, even models without telephoto, has a long digital zoom. It seems that there is Amazing.

On the other hand, night scenes and low illuminance are weak and lacking in effort. The city night view can be taken to some extent, but the result is dissatisfying.

I would say it doesn't support low light. Do you think this area is a point of differentiation from the high-end model?

Despite the low price, it boasts outstanding performance with the latest mid-high SoC, ensuring video performance and camera performance (other than night view). It is finished in such an interesting model.

Since this machine has not passed the technical suit, it is recommended for foreigners who plan to travel domestically and Japanese who often travel abroad. I would like to expect the official deployment to Japan.
